We listened to as many views as possible about what local tax reform could mean and what it should look like.
One of the ways in which we did this was through a programme of conversations in communities in different parts of Scotland and with a range of networks about what might –and might not – be a fairer way of raising the £2 billion presently collected from Council Tax in Scotland.
These interactive events were an opportunity to have a real say about the future of local taxation in Scotland. Each was designed to last around 2.5 hours, and attended by members of the Commission to hear views first hand. Our programme of events is set out below.
